Author of three books: Introducción al urbanismo, Alianza Editorial, 1999; La práctica urbanística emergente en los Estados Unidos: un análisis desde la perspectiva Europea, Universidad Carlos III-BOE, 1998; Urbanismo con perspectiva de género, Junta de Andalucía, 2004.
Co-author of two books: with Fernando Terán, Madrid, ciudad-región, en la segunda mitad del siglo XX, Electa, 2000; and with Javier Ruiz, Ciudades para las personas, Instituto de la Mujer, 2004. Author of aout thirty articles in spanish and foreign periodical publications and collective books. Imparte regularmente conferencias en congresos, cursos y másteres en universidades españolas, europeas y americanas.

Head of several research projects funded by the Programa Marco Europeo de Investigación, Plan Nacional de Investigación, Plan Regional de Investigación de la Comunidad de Madrid and public and private organizations.
Her research specialization focuses on:
- Regional planning and urban design and policy to control urban dispersal, from a international and compared perspective
- Gender issues on urbanism and architecture
- Madrid regional and urban development
